Bones of Photography by Bones walking off the moorland

I am a landscape and wildlife photographer based in the picturesque Peak District National Park, in the heart of England, .

I have been an avid “snapper” since the advent of digital photography back in 1998. I know the Peak District extremely well having hiked, biked, worked, driven around it and lived here for all of my life.
I have run guided tours and have promoted the area in previous business interests. Now I am content getting out and capturing the subtle majesty of this beautiful area.

Photography forces me to get up early and stay out late, allowing me to see the land with the light in all its moods. Something I rarely did when I just used to hike.

I use Sony camera equipment because I like the size and technical advantages that the mirrorless system offers, but have shot Olympus and Canon in the past. Equipment is a personal choice and what matters is getting out with your camera and using it as a vehicle to explore an area.

I sell pictures and a few other things, and I also run a small number of photographic workshops. I do talks on occasion for photographic groups and others.

If you have a new camera, or have had one for some time and want to learn how and where to take some good photographs, or want a guide to the area. Please contact me and we can have a chat.
